Looks great! Custom solutions are always the best. That should come in real handy! As for the powder/paint debate, I say spend the money that you would have spent on a store bought chock and put it towards a powder setup. That way this project will eventually pay YOU! Those projects are better than free.
A couple hours and zero dollars. Once I have it all the way finished, I'll get it sand blasted and powder coated ... Mike, in staying with the "theme" wouldn't a can of Krylon or Rustoleum be more appropriate? :>)
Consider me convinced! This is something I may use two or three times a year, and the material is heavy enough, it won't rust through in my lifetime.
Besides, I painted the trailer with rustoleum after I built that. So, if it's good enough for the trailer, it's good enough for this gizmo
Thanks guys.....and gal! This is a relatively small fab job, especially compared to the trailer it's being used on. I built this trailer late in '15 thru early '16. It features a pop up camper and flat bed car hauler for my drag race car. A lot of my races are multiple day events, and this saves a chunk of money on hotels. It started as 120 feet of 2X4" rectangular steel tubing and a used pop up camper. Four months later I was towin' the car to the races! Honestly, the short time frame kicked my butt! I ain't 50 years old anymore! First photo is the frame upside down to do all the welding underneath. Then it was flipped over
I think when I semi-retire in a few years, I'll start doing custom work. Not only welding, but other custom fab work to. I figured I'd call it A.F.A.B. - Anything For A Buck! My middle name will become CASH!
That trailer is awesome! I love the idea of building your camper into it. What does the whole thing weigh in at?
It weighs about 42-4400 pounds with the car on it. The car weighs a bit under 1800lbs. It'll be lighter with my Deluxe on it, but the tongue weight will be more.

Nah. I bought 'em at Tractor Supply for $60 each.
Thanks for the good words guys! Once I get the bike fixture done, I'll post a pic with the bike on the trailer
Man I wish I had that talent. One thing I would do is put a couple more mounting holes in the bottom of the motorcycle mount. I just wouldn't feel safe with only 2 bolts holding it down.
