Are those the spacers that mount at the bike's frame?
If so, my opinion is it's a recipe for disaster when used with the Tallboys brackets. The Tallboys already compromise cornering clearance somewhat. Pushing them outboard an inch sounds like a bad idea to me.
The footboard spacers are the 1" spacers that mount to the frame pushing them out. I do agree with you as far as it changing clearance, BUT I don't ride my bike like a sport bike, I just cruise around. I don't take corners faster than I should, I just enjoy being out on the bike. I have yet to drag either footboard so it is a non issue as far as I'm concerned. I can see that if you took turns quicker and rode it more like a crotch rocket then yes, I can see how it would not be a wise idea.

Definitely not tossed out there as a criticism. More a cautionary note. When I mounted the Tallboys brackets I touched down on the left side a few times in what I would consider to be normal riding. Granted, the left side has that squared off portion (that I cut off). Once I trimmed them down I haven't touched down. Also, I have the Kury 4588 brackets which push the boards out at the top and hinge. I scrape them a bunch, but there's no consequences.
I am 6"5" 265 with a 36" inseam and long monkey arms! I have the long angled Harley foot pegs, EZ Brake pedal, EZ Shift "shifter set", Kuryakyn
3/4" floorboard spacers, Ultimate two piece Tall Boy seat and Yaffe 14 " Classic Bagger Apes and all this finally made my 2014 FLHTK comfortable!

I would look at the softbrake extended brake lever, they have all the way up to +3 from stock and it angles down more from factory. I have one on my road king and I love it. They also do extended shift levers. Another one of the best mods is the tallboy cycles footboard extensions. Some of the best money I've spent on the bike.
I have already spoken to Tallboy Cycles about their extensions as they were first on my list after hearing about them from this group, but unfortunately they don't make them for the FreeWheeler because of the the foot controlled parking brake.
Been on the HD forum for a couple months now and I have utilized a TON of information that has helped me transform my 2006 Ultra Classic from a cramped/uncomfortable ride to almost pure bliss! (well it's getting there. Only a few things left...)
The one thing I've been noticing is a lot of comments about "this is good" or "best mod ever" but the details of the person commenting are minimal at best. Opinions are good but they don't help people implement them onto their bikes if they don't know what you ride and what your exact body type is.
Not to mention the money we've all wasted buying stuff that we thought sounded liek a good fit from reviews and then it turns out not to be.
So I'd like to propose creating a detailed break down of what us 6'4 and above riders do to make our bikes more comfortable and what our body shapes are.
I would LIKE to draw as much info from people who do LONG rides for multiple days. This way info about seats, bars, pegs, etc... are from people who have to deal with day after day bodily wear and tear where a small bit of change can make a huge difference on long rides.
So I'll start....
2006 Ultra Classic Electra Glide Stock Seat, Bars and Footboards
6'7 230 lbs with broad shoulders and a 36 waist. (Athletic cut type suits I have to buy) 35 inch inseam 36 inch arms (from wrist, over outside/middle of shoulder to base of neck) 27 inch torso - Longer in the torso than the legs. 3/4 face HJC IS-33 XXL Helmet (Just putting this on here for helmet comparisons on wind buffeting and windshield selection)
Mods for comfort:
Removed lower fairings
Removed Heel Shifter
2 inch brake lever extenders from softbrake (have to have lower fairings removed to put 2 inch extenders on there)
2 inch shifter extender from Kuryakyn
1 inch footboard spacers from Harley Goodies
2 inch forward VT footboard extension kit (have to custom cut lower fairings or remove them for this if you have the lever extenders)
2.5 inch tour pak extender from kuryakenand adjustable passenger pegs (Mrs has to fit and be happy somehow. She's 4'11)
HD adjustable backrest (Yes I'm a puss. Too many years of rough sports and my back is wrecked after 200-300 miles without the backrest.)
Kuryakyn adjustabe long arm highway pegs (reversed and pushed out)
LRS 10 inch recurve windshield (12 inch stocker was right in my line of sight. 7 & 10 inch reg windshields gave major wind buffeting at freeway speeds. LRS is going on in a couple days so I will report back on the wind buffeting. Hoping that advertised 2-4 inches of wind lift puts me in the "sweet spot" while still being able to see over the edge over the shield. This has been a major issue for me. To the point where my vision is blurred out from headshake at freeway speeds with both the 7 and 10 inch reg shield.)
Scorpion Stinger Phantom Perforated Leather Jacket in XXLT. (Not a "biker" jacket" but it's comfy, quality, has flexible armor, priced good and perforated for So-Cal Summers PLUS it has a removable liner. Like it becuase it's not all gaudy like a rice rocket jacket. Matte black finish that is low pro. Best part is it is long enough in the torso and arms! If you're tall and lean then you'll understand the issue with jackets. They're either the right length and SUPER loose around the waist/torso or the waist/torso area fits right and the sleeves and length are way too short. This one fits everywhere and it's heavy duty leather that breathes well.)
Last two things still to do....
1st - 16 inch Apes. This is going to be huge. I've sat on a few with 14 or 16 inch bars and the pressure/pain in the upper back/lower neck dissapeared. I feel like I'm having to reach way to far forward and down with the stockers. After 50-60 miles I start to get a nice solid burn at that spot. By 150 miles it's a pretty solid pain. By 200-250 it's like a stake being driven down my spine. 300+ and I'm pretty much jacked. I'm ordering my apes soon and will report back on the change in comfort on long rides when I have them on.
2nd - Different seat. I don't want to go any taller. I can reach the ground easily and don't want my head any higher above the windshield. I want to be able to see over it and not get pummeled by the wind. I'm looking for a seat that will push me back and possibly down that is made for 2 up riding AND it can fit with the adjustable backrest. If anyone has suggestions let me know! From what I've read the Sundowner pushes you forward (hell no) and the HD tall boy pushes you an inch up (no thank you). Anything else?
Looking forward to seeing other tall guy mods and what size they are to compare it against!
Cheers!
6'4" 290LBS i actually prefer a lower seat with a couple inches stretch makes the biggest difference, and still gives her lots of room lower seat drops you down moves you back and stretches you out. Drops you down behind the fairing and windshield. You also look better on the bike I know this shouldn't matter but it does. Cheers!!
Same issue here. Scraped on leftside several times normal turning. Talked to guys at Tallboy and he didn't recommend the Kury extenders.Stated that there design is already pushed to limits of riding when cornering..
is anybody running the tallboy brackets with e-zbrake levers
In my experience they were not compatible. The slight angle of the brackets, along with the angle of the break arm resulted in a lack of clearance for my boot. I would call David at EZ Brake and talk with him. EZ Brake was a well made quality part but I had to return mine, David steered me over to Soft Brake. Stand up guy ....

Hey guys the new Harley Tallboy seat for Rushmore bikes is awesome! I had the previous one but didn't like it because it would crease up on the bike and I found I was always sliding forward. They have redesigned the seat so I thought I would try it again. The newest one is shaped different, it provides better back support as well as the problem with sliding forward is fixed. Also it looks much better with two types of vinyl on it, a mix of smooth and textured. Part # 52000252 https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...16-52000252--1
