Regular denim jeans will protect you about as well as tissue paper if you slide. Kevlar reinforced jeans, will protect you MAYBE a little bit better, provided you slide only on the reinforced area. And you won't.

True. But I was striving to explain that just undies does not cut it and overall outside is what's needed. Not something inside.

I unfortunately have "got off" four times on the asphalt.( in fifty plus years)
My denim jeans have worked pretty well.
left a couple of pockets behind and a wallet , however a lot better than tissue
paper. (just so you know)

Depends on how fast you're going. I always wear Cordura mesh or leather. With CE-rated armor.
