I literally had to turn the bike over on its side to get enough leverage to get the plug out.
I have wrenched a long time not on motorcycles but everything else and i aint ever heard of someone putting red locket on a threaded oil plug.
Maybe a dab of liquid teflon ?

Did you check your manual for oil drain plug location?

Taper thread on the drain sounds weird.
Almost sounds like he took that blank Hex plug out of the right side rather than the actual oil drain plug.

Which is pretty funny considering the title of the thread.

Yep. The actual oil drain plug has an o-ring as well....

Well, nothing got broke so all good.

Yeah, I found a picture on line of the drain plug for the M8 and it's straight threads with an o-ring.
The one they tell you not to remove is tapered and could well have red loctite on it from the factory.

My mistake it is the same picture and you men are right I did take out the wrong plug, the oil plug does have an O ring on it as does the primary and transmission.
And they are all the same size.
I looked at the picture in the manual wrong.
One of the things that threw me was the note @ #1 says the transmission drain plug is on the right side, its not its on the left side ?
Thanks for setting me straight.
