Slightly overloaded

Slightly overloaded
Getting ready for my X-country trip. I have 24 lbs in each saddlebag, 29 lbs in the tourpak, and 22 lbs in my waterproof luggage in passenger seat.
Per HD, the max in each saddlebag is 20 lbs, 30 for the tourpak, and of course my passenger is my luggage at only 22 lbs so am fine there and the tourpak.
Since I am running out of space, moving some items to the luggage is not feasible.
Any real life experiences with slight overload on the saddlebags or am I about to screw up my saddlebags?
Will they handle 4 lbs overload for a 6K mile trip?

first off....are going to go hit those white states in the middle of your map? i dont know but i would think 4 lbs is not a problem...thats a lot of stuff though...if i can.. why so much? ive done several 2500-3000 mile trips from 6 - 10 days... with just my bags full and a sleeping bag and tent on a rack...

Remember, the guidelines are, at least partially, developed by lawyers.......don't sweat it......

You will be OK - however, as others have suggested, carry less.
Wife and I just returned from our trip. We always pack for just 3 days. Just do laundry - this has worked well for us the last few years.

Wife and I spent three weeks on the road two years ago....................Never an issue with storage. I never weighed the amount of luggage we had though but saw no issues. Maybe you should pack a little less. Most all hotels have laundry service or washer/dryers you can use. Pick up some t-shirts or what ever along the way and mail your dirty cloths home if you want. Actually had several dealerships mail dirty cloths home for us when we picked up a few t-shirts. Lots of options other than carrying that much crap with you from the start.
