That is a sick paint job. Especially the smoke from the bullet hole on the front of the tank. Amazing job!

I did this with cans of Rustoleum hammered finish spray paint. Sharpie markers were used to create the faux sheet metal seams, and while wet I lightly dragged a rag across them to create the faux oil drag. I used water slide model graphics for the faux rivots, bombing run credits, name and smoke'n hot pin-up girl. I then had it professionally clear coated because that was beyond my capabilities at the time. Many of these pics are after I traded it and it was on the showroom floor for resale.

Do you mean water-slide decals, like those used on model airplanes?

Where did you buy them?

Cost of can paint is higher than base/clear automotive paint.
Some info for can painters:
1 ga of single stage paint is about $100 (2-3 bikes)
spray gun (Harbor freight) $16
1 ga of clear $70
You are not gaining anything using can paint.

Yes, I used water slide model graphics.
I found them online, but being 7 years ago, I don't remember the website.

Well, I'm gaining the ability to do it at all using rattle can paint since I have no garage, no compressor and everything is done in a public parking lot by hanging the parts on tree branches so I can paint them.

Xnysgt, that is a fantastic job you did on that bike. Really nice!!

I'm getting ready to do some rattle can myself
Imbecile knocked my parked bike over and I can't see paying Harley $2000 for a fuel tank and $850 for a front and $850 for a rear fender. One pea sized chip on my front fender, a crack on the rear fender paint and a ding on the fuel tank.

Ive bought the correct paints for my bike online to include the 2K clear coat. I picked up substitute tins for my bike to wear while I work on my factory tins.

Now I need advice on how to best proceed. My bike is a 2 tone, with the colors separated by 2 different color pin stripes.

The ding on the front is just on the white. Should I tape off the blue and just address the white ding?

The ding on the rear is on the blue. Same question, tape off the white and only fix and spray the blue?

Fuel tank damage on the white. Same thing?

Would appreciate some input.

All I have to say is WOW!!! I have been doing my Fat boy in a WW2 Bomber art theme and would love to have a paint job like this done. This is way above my talent level
