I found a self closing braided wrap that wouldn't look too bad and is rated at continuous operating temp of 302 degrees F and melt point of 482 deg F. Only $10 for 10ft of 3/8".
You found the spot where it is rubbing... mine rubbed through and I lost that cylinder while riding on the interstate about 8 miles from home... I limped home but had to get the bike towed to the dealership the next day. They fixed it under warranty. They said HD knows it's and issue but aren't doing a recall. They are just fixing them as they come in. It fouled my pulls as they replaced them both as well. (I'm sure that was because I had to limp home).

Mines on an esp but not on HD warranty. If I were to just bring them the wire I wonder if they would give me a new one? Save me putting it back together.

That depends on the service center. Most want to see the wire on the bike that is covered because they validate that the wire was off of your bike and not another bike that wasn't covered. The first time I took anything in for warranty work was when my valve stem cracked. I took the rear wheel off the bike and brought it in to the service dept and they did fix it for me under warranty but said next time just have the bike towed in (they have a pick up service) because they really need to see the wheel on the bike that is being covered under warranty. I get it, I just figured I was saving time by just pulling the rear wheel and bring it in. All the bikes I have had in the past never had a warranty so I needed to get used to having a bike with a warranty. Since then I just bring bike in and get the warranty work done and the wash. I have the ESP from cornerstone that will kick in middle of this month as that is when my factory warranty will expire. So hopefully any warranty work that is needed will be just as smooth.
