I'm going to ask here since you guys are knowledgeable about this stuff. Does the Dyna have enough excess charging capacity to safely run heated gear drawing 6.3 amps for extended periods? Possibly even a little more if I need to hook up my Iphone while out in Colorado.

Got the Predator mount installed. It weighs right at 4 pounds with hardware. The stock mount, complete, with hardware, weighs 3 pounds. 1 pound well spent, I think.

While I was staring at it, I also cleaned up the 18 year old fins on the voltage regulator. 320 grit on an oscillating sander. Took all of a minute. Well worth it!

It's hidden in there pretty good, but I like that.

Damn, these new/refinished parts sure make the old stuff look shabby. I need to spend some quality time with touch up paint and a polishing cone on the frame and such.

OH, I've got the original parts soaking in degreaser right now. I'll scrub them up in the morning and get a pic of a vintage isolator for y'all. I think the rubber is more-or-less completely torn thru but it was hard to tell with all the grime.

Great job! I got some 3M medium and fine foam sanding blocks to clean up the fins on my Dyna's engine. A project for a later date, after I have the J&S lift.

Stainless Sputhe installed. With the help of some jack stands and a chainfall, since I have no wheels. Even without the (literal) rigging it was kind of a pain! I never noticed anybody mentioning removing the rear master cylinder to get to the upper mount nuts and wire loom anchor, but I couldn't see any other way to get to them. I already had the rear caliper and linkage off, so no biggie, but that would be quite a labor adder if this was a standalone project for somebody...

I still need to hit that rust spot with some sandpaper, rust converter, and paint. Done for tonight, tho.

Had plans to install the QC sissy bar hardware, but repairs on the house ran a little longer than expected. I did at least get the Hogrida lay down plate installed.

Cleaned up the new (used) hub and ancient front isolator.

The isolator actually looks pretty good; it's not torn anyway. But I know it's lost all it's elastic strength as it started vibrating very badly at idle last year.

Another great Texas Hill Country ride on Sunday. A buddy of mine and I left Gruene Harley-Davidson and rode to Boerne where we grabbed a burger. After that, we hit Sisterdale and Kendalia on our way back towards the New Braunfels area. Great ride!! Hard to beat the Central Texas area for super rides.

I run a Keis vest, gloves and insoles all through the winter at about freezing. Up until recently I didn't use a battery tender and had no issues.
