Default Strapping items to sissy bar/motorcycle

So the other day i went to get an oil drain pan from harley. I had no idea how i was going to get home wout hassle. I used my cargo net and my helmet lock to tie down the top. I cant believe it worked. It stayed down put at 70 + mph. W all that surface id figured id have a heck of time w it in the back there.

Does anyone have any pics of crazy tie downs on their sissy bar? And/or a method they use to secure a 100% tie down w out losing any luggage? 😊

Feel you man, strap everything to it. I don't have pics of it all but I've strapped all kinds of **** to it. I always have that brown bag with me for clothes and my tool roll. Flowers and **** was my old lady's birthday. Pick up dinner ****, beers, champagne bottles, all kind of ****. French baguettes fit under the flap on that side bag. If I can't strap it to the sissy, I probably don't need it. Props on keeping that thing on at freeway speeds.

When you say strap it on, are you using bungee cords?

I've had a lot of success with 1" straps with cam buckles on my '87. You just have to make sure the leftover strap is tucked in somewhere so it doesn't flap.

Haven't really tried to strap anything to the '15, it has large saddle bags and we use a T-Bag when traveling.

I don't have any pic but use ROK straps for just about everything except when I go to Costco and get a 48 pack of beer. I use a couple of ratchet straps for that. I brought my Harley oil drain Pan home on my bike as well.

Thanks man!

Yeah we do...if we need to bring **** with us, I move the bag to the back of the bar on top of the fender so she has room.

Use my sissy to strap on a bag from time to time.
I usually wear a backpack on the commute because I hate undoing the cargo net to get the bag off every time I stop for coffee.......yes, I stop for coffee on my bike.

I fabbed my own sissy bar so I think I'll fab a small, drop down shelf for it as well. Hmmmm....ideas, ideas.

I use bungies and nets, depending on what is being carried.
