We was down there last Friday 8/25 and The 555 was in bad shape. Looks like they were logging out North and South of Portersville. The road had debris everywhere (sticks, branches, saw dust, tree bark and gravel). We did stop at the Port 37 Carry out. My buddy designed The 555 patches that is in the banner.
The wife booked us a room at the Burr Oak lodge, it't located off route Rt 78... what a great ride Rt 78 is... rode it from Mconnelsville to Glouster.
Saturday we rode 555 from 78 down to the river it was another great ride other than a couple spots that the road was closed for construction.
If you live near by it's worth the trip to ride either one of these roads.
78 to 800 south is a really awesome run too! and if you're feeling froggy run 78 eastward to 800 south then take 7 south and west back to the southern end of 555 and take it back up to complete the circle!!!!
Did that one two summers ago, came back up 60 though, short fall day
Been trying to get the time to do the covered bridge parkway, it runs from Marietta to just below 78/800 crossroads
