It really doesn't move much, but it does slide a little bit. There's 1/4" maybe 1/2" if I remember correctly.
It depends on many factors: back condition, cushion on your rear end, road conditions, speed, highway pegs, etc. I have a good back, minimal cushion on my rear end, road conditions are varied, and speeds up to 100, for what that's worth, and have highway pegs as you can see in the photos. If you have stock suspension, it's a lot longer than if you have HD Premium forks upgrade and aftermarket rear shocks. If I could guess I'd say couple hours and 1.5 hours respectively.
As you know, stopping more frequently and walking around can help out your tolerable distances. At one point I got used to the solo seat and would rode on it for 5 hour rides and had no hotspots during or soreness after the ride. I did make more frequent adjustments while riding to stay comfortable. I had the solo seat on for several months and then when I threw the stock seat on to take a passenger, it was a pretty significant difference.
You will definitely have better road feel on that seat

One thing I'd like to point out is that the reason the RunAround puts you sooo far back is that you don't have the rear lip. Which is exactly what I like about it and why it does feel unnerving, until you get used to it. It's not like your going to dump yourself of the bike though... unless you have some serious mods (& nitrous) HA

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
How does that compare to some of the HD police seats I've seen?
