All done. Too late to fire it up, I'm afraid my neighbors would not share my enthusiasm,
hahaha! It went all fairly smoothly, I'd say the most nerve racking was filing the piston rings.

Old cylinders out (sniff, sniff, good bye 883). Pistons looked like they were in excellent shape:

Rear piston and cylinder installed:

Both cylinders and heads in. I was really happy how well it all went together. pistons, cylinders and piston wrist pins clips all cooperated for the most part, haha! Had to buzz of the rivet on the head gaskets as per the Hammer instructions. Right side was fine, left side was way too close:

I Made sure to cover the valve springs and push rods in some oil. Used assembly grease on bolts too. Here I have the Daytona TC88A installed; initial set to 2, slope to 0. Rejetted the carb 185 and a 45:

All buttoned up! Like I said, too late to fire it tonight, so I'll be doing a video fist thing tomorrow. Cross your fingers!

Well, I ran the heat cycles and did the first mile ride. Seems like it's running good, just taking it easy on it. I'm going to take it on a 2 mile ride after it cools down.

I think we're good? Just gotta figure out the check engine code U1016 I'm getting from the new ignition module.

Ah thank you Cvaria. I also realized I'm using stock heat range plugs, so I gotta go get some. Too bad it's labor day weekend, pretty much everything will be closed tomorrow.

The heat range is the important part, right? I'm pretty sure I could get some NGKs from the auto store...

Hmm. I'm thinking I'm running lean. I've got a 185 and a 45 jet and this is what the plugs look like after about a 20 mile ride. Dry, almost grey-ish.

It is also possible I have an air leak, maybe on the exhaust. I think I'll add all new gaskets to the exhaust to see if that helps.

Sorry for the crappy picture.....
