As the owner of a '13 CVO Ultra 110, I keep FOUR pumps on my bike at all times:
Oil pump, fuel pump, rear suspension pump and a mini (compressor) air pump.
Looks like all of us may have to go with a liquid engine in the future if we buy another Harley, but I found the suggestion that H-D should build a bare-bones, truly retro bike.
IF (and that's a HUGE IF) the EPA would allow them to build a very small number of these bikes, I wonder how many people would actually buy one and I also wonder just how many people would even be able to "kick" start anymore?
I've got the original "liquid cooled" HD the very well loved and received VRod.../sarc
Have had 3 of them now- since 09 the newest is a 2016. Never had a single problem with any of them. HD/Porsche put together a high revving 9500rpm high horsepower 122hp or so....many things HD could have done to make it a success - but they didn't. I love the VRod Dyna's/ Sportster's/Baggers(!) nothing can run with them....Nothing Period - Liquid cooling is the answer. That engine will be back -
mark my word, too much time and money spent in the development between Porsche and HD. JMO
Those cylinder walls on those 103/107/114/117/120 are getting way to thin - But
there sure is a lot of money in repair of air cooled/and semi air cooled motors right
