Seafus the pic of your Dad is killer. I'm not usely big on white walls or apes but that looks great with the landscape . He's a big guy and that's when apes look good , they match the rider, arms are straight. Also they seam to look best on road Kings.
I've posted this before, but I think it's the best testament unless you're in the anti-ape camp. I've had them for about 10 years, and probably always will. Though I don't have Carlini's. My old man is 65 and he was always wanting to ride my bike, because "it felt better."
Long story short, we put a set of Carlini Gangster's on his bike about 4 years ago and he averages about 20,000 miles a year and absolutely loves them. He just did a 6000 mile trip in a couple weeks time. His are the 1.5" and 16" tall.
I'm new here, and on my second Harley, first RK...Looking to put 16 inch ape hangers Carlini Gangsters and am curious to your dad's height. I know there are lots of posts but most don't include the rider so its hard to judge if they would be right for me. I contacted Carlini as I've read on lots of posts that they run 1.5-2 inches higher than stated, but they say that was the old ones and the new ones are true to size.
Anyone chime in on these issues that have put on these bars in the last few years??

I have them on my RKC right now. Best bars I have ever had IMO. I am 6-2" and they fit me perfect.
this is the second bike I've had with Gangsters. I love the way they look and feel. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the pics guys!
Again sorry as this is a dead horse, I understand that the person's height vs the bar height with seat height all matters. I'm just trying to figure out as much as I can as I live in Canada. The supplier costs of getting stuff here is enough let alone if I have to send it back on my dime. The dealership will not take them back for exchange.
I'm 5'10 and thinking 14 1.5 will be shoulder height at 12 o clock. I'm looking for the 12 o clock look more so then high apes over my shoulders.
I've read guys that are 5'7 that have 18s and thats fine if thats what you want but I have a hard time believing they keep any comfort or the bars are coming almost straight back at them.
slvdout, are they 16 or 18 ? I'm assuming 1.5?
Thanks for the pictures guys, love the apes on the RKs!!!
They are 18" 1-1/4" I'm 6'4" and my hands are slightly above my shoulders. I have several seats for this bike and they don't change the height enough that I notice.
I've ridden my bud's with 18" 1.5" bars. Looks absolutely sick! But, I am also 5'-10" and they were too tall for me. 14" may be just right - I have 14" Yaffee's on my scoot, and they are just about perfect.
