Akoury AK-66 with ear plugs. Or no helmet and ear plugs. OR any helmet with ear plugs. Key here is ear plugs...and you can still hear your ride, horns etc...

I wear an Arai full face and it's quite quiet.

There is a lot of road and wind noise with that particular helmet.

Do full face helmets block some of that noise? Do some of them block it better than others?
Try using blue tooth ear buds instead of helmet speakers. The buds protect your ears from the noise better. HD has a module that allows bluetooth ear buds to now connect to the 14-17 touring bikes with the Boom radio system. The 18s already have this built in.

I use the EarPeace earplugs with Schuberth C3 Pro. It is pretty signicant the decrease in windnoise just closing the visor from just being cracked. I don't have near the ringing ears I used to with just the helmet alone, and it is a pretty quiet modular helmet.

Nope. I wear foam ear plugs with my FF and can hear my Sena just fine. The OP has impaired hearing though so I'm not are how that will work for him.

Yup. I have a SENA 10U in my Shoei Neotec and I also ride with earplugs. I rarely listen to music, but I can hear my podcasts perfectly and the occasional phone call.

I put the 20S on the Torq 3/4 helmet and bought a pair of
these. these.
With the Sena app and PowerAmp set to allow for my hearing loss I'm able to listen to music at 80 mph on the highway, without having it set to max volume. There is still a little road noise, next year I may try having custom ear molds created to see if that reduces the last of the road noise.

I'm very pleased with the performance of the components together. The only issue is this is the first time in 48 years of riding I've listened to music and it's seems to be a little distracting. On a recent trip I missed a few planned turns.

Not for me. I hear her just fine, even with ear plugs. (See my post below.)

I hate FF helmets. I feel too closed in with them on, like my head is in a bucket.

We do and like I said, I can hear her but with a headwind at highway speeds, she has a difficult time hearing me. Tailwinds and speeds under 40, no problem her hearing me.
