Sure you're talking about K75s? Lot of Paralever oilheads had troubles . . . I'm not aware of problems on early K bikes.

My K75 is a 1995 and has just under 50K miles, while the K75RT is a 1994 and has almost 76K. Never a problem with final drives or anything else that would strand me. Important to keep transmission input splines lubricated, as well as shaft and final drive splines. But that's normal maintenance.

Used to have a German auto mechanic who'd say, "This is the only country in the world where they don't ride their motorcycles year 'round!"

Default Quick rinse

BMW, just rinse it off twice a year and you are good to go. The traction control works great in the rain also.

Easiest bikes to take care of in wet weather were my full fairing sport bikes. Everything is covered, so just wash it like a car when it gets dirty. As far as riding I would say some type of dual sport.

KLR 650 Kawasaki I don't think there is any chrome anywhere on the bike. I live near the shore and trust me on this; chrome will rust even in a garage and sitting perfectly still.

Stay away from spokes unless you love to clean motorcycles. They will corrode very quickly.
I agree 100% with Bartender about an Electra Glide, the fairing and windshield are closer to you than on a Roadglides.
You want the big front fender, not the smaller one like on a Fatboy. Make sure to get the movable little fairing lower air deflectors that come standard on the Limiteds and the Hard Lowers, and then also install Fork Mounted Air Deflectors (da Fangs).
They along with the Hard Lowers really help in keeping the cold air and rain off of you.
