Default Need info on part


Good afternoon everyone,
i am new to this site so sorry if this is the wrong spot. I have an 01 dyna low rider fxdl. I took off the gas tank in order to get to the wires underneath it. I have everything back on but there is a part dangling around and I have no clue where this goes or what it is. Please help!

I think you are talking about #24 - the vapor valve. Maybe the parts diagram will help as I don't have a service manual for your bike.

vapor valve, it needs to be mounted vertical to function

That clip thats around it attaches to a hole in the frame on left side. Im assuming from the looks of it the evap can stuff has been removed. Possibly the clip nipple #11 broke off?
