I have been following this and I am so very happy you had good weather and a great time. It also makes me feel blessed that I get to ride these roads (and more) here multiple times every year. I don't take it for granted.
The Ft Collins, Walden one you mentioned which is Poudre Canyon is one of the nicest. One really nice one you missed (so will will have to come back!) is hwy 550 or the Million Dollar Highway in the Ouray area. It's 5 hours from Denver in the southwest part of the state. Good rides down there too.
Be safe.
Million Dollar has been on my Bucket list for years, however we're talking an 1100 mile round trip from my location so that one is not happening this trip. Hopefully sometime if I make it over to the Moab area I can get it done.
Well I was considering leaving a day early since I have accomplished most of what I came for but they are calling for 8 inches of rain and quite a bit of flooding at home and along much of my route between noon tomorrow through Fri night. Looks like I'll wait and leave Friday morning as originally planned instead and hope most of the heavy rain has moved out by the time my 18 hour drive is finished.
If any of you especially you lurkers in this post have wanted to do this or a similar trip but haven't yet, DO IT!!!!! Last year Ulnar nerve damage and a paralyzed left hand nearly put an end to my dream of 25 years that just kept being put off by "life". Just do like me and suddenly say **** it I'm going!!!! You never know when the time is up!!!! One last short rain threatening 70 mile ride today and now the bike is loaded in the truck. It has been AWESOME!!!!! Thanks again for the help and suggestions. This crew always come through!

18 hour drive home and sitting in complete gridlock everywhere on Friday holiday rush hour in St Louis (no one was getting anywhere for hours). The north bound side of I-270 and I-64 was backed up for 40 miles in one spot!!! I finally made it home safe and sound! I really don't know how you city dwellers live with the traffic. Now to pick up the mess Harvey made in my yard after passing through here. Vacation officially over and thankful for the holiday weekend to recover, I'm gonna need it!!!!!
This was me sitting on I-55 south headed towards Memphis where at first I thought I finally had made it out.
