Default Found a new way to tip over.

Parking at the end of a block, there's the usual road crown, and then there was a steeper slope into a storm drain.

I walk it back, feel a little jar or bump, and put the stand down while holding the front brake. Lean it onto the stand and let off the brake. Instantly, the thing rolls backward, that little bump was the beginning of the storm drain slope.

Now, the stand was resting on level ground and the back wheel is going down a slope, so guess what...the stand levers the thing over on its side, and the tilt sensor kills the engine.

Took me and two other guys (thanks guys) to push it out of that mess. Squashed my muffler tip, too. Live and learn.

Anyone got one of these in there garage that needs a good home? ITs the old SE muffler, 3.5 inches can diameter and 3 attachment screws

Dang. I hate to bring more bad news but that muffler tip is tough as hell to find...I had a co-worker back in to my Roadking and break my SE tip like that. Took me quite a while to find a replacement and cost me more than I wanted to pay...

I bet if you took that tip to a PDR shop they could straighten it out like new. I had my car repaired by them from a hail storm and what they did was simply amazing. If I didn’t see it with my own eyes, never would have believed it was possible. Well over 1000 hail dents all removed and no painting needed. Better than new.
May need the tips to be rechromed if the chrome has cracked though.
Just a thought.

Sorry about the mishap, OP. Hopefully you'll find an easy solution.

Sorry that this happened but people really need to learn how to pick up their own bikes, I've done it a few times now for people ( 600 sport bike n Road King and a Indian roadstar ) and I'm an average sized human. Just go on YouTube and look up tiny woman lifts Harley. Sure dropping your bike is embarrassing but it's a lot less embarrassing when you are able to pick it back up by yourself

Best file for a patent! Sorry that happened. Been a few years (knock wood) but you never forget the sickening feeling of it going over.

Nope not a new way. Hills and slopes have always been tricky, look for greener pastures next time.
