So after all these years, I thinking I finally have a member tying to scam me.. can someone go out and verify their mufflers on their M8 CVO Street Glide? Here are my pics below. Yes, I actually used a broom stick to show that it will go all the way to the cat.
CMshark, my sincere apologies!
You had very fast shipping, great packaging, item was like brand new and now I see parts was as described. Must be they took the sound plug out of the CVO muffler for 17 and added it back in for 18. There are multiple threads on the web about folks removing the plugs for all years, my bad assuming that is what you did on your 17.
This might also explain why my 2018 CVO 117 Limited seems like it's stuffed up lacking some low end torque compared to my 17 CVO Street glide. Damn EPA probably has stricter requirements for 2018 so they plugged up the exhaust even more.
Anyway, thanks everyone for your responses. CM, again my apologizes.
I appreciate it RinTin and I accept your apology. I probably could've handled this differently, for that, I'm sorry.
Wonder if the 117 is why HD put the plug in it? Are all the 18's 50 state bikes? Now I need to go to the dealer to check out their new CVO Street Glides.
My 2017 CVO Street glide, the mufflers when straight through. Realized this when trying to get baffle out to put Fullsac baffles in. I use to use a rod to push the baffles out, after the welds were ground out. Will the rod when right though.
Same on my 2018 CVO road glide, baffles go straight thourgh

Thanks for the data point Dave. So it must be only the 2018 CVO Limited's that has the sound plug in them (not straight though as shown in my picture).
All touring CVO's in 2017 has same muffler, pipes are straight through all the way
Absolutely not. My 2017 CVO Limited mufflers were NOT straight through. If you held them up to the light you could not see through them. I replaced the factory CVO limited mufflers with SE Street Cannons which you can see through.

Thank you heatwave, there is another data point. The 17 CVO limited isn't straight through either.

2017 and 2018 CVO SG straight through
2017 and 2018 CVO Limited has a plug
What size is the pathway that you can see through? These 17 SG CVO pipes have aprox a 1.5 in hole straight through them. If I remember, looking at the street cannons at the dealer the straight through path for the Cannons was only about a half inch? Can you verify?

The SE Street Cannons that I used to replace the factory CVO mufflers have a 2 hole that can be seen all the way through the entire muffler.
