Default Handlebars - Who has changed on 2017 Limited CVO

Hey folks,

I changed the handlebars on my 2016 Limited myself and went with Wild One WO578 and could not have been happier.

Just traded for a new 2017 CVO Limited. Everywhere I look on the web I keep seeing "Not for CVO". There seems to be very little available for them and with this being my first CVO bike I cannot figure out what is different. I plan to call Wild One and also Yaffee this coming week and ask questions.

But hoping some of you have already made the change and may have pictures and can share your experience.

Thanks in advance!

Great news, the WO 578 will fit your new bike. I have them on my 2017 CVO Limited. They fit with all of the stock wiring and no need to extend the cables. Like on your 16 if you don't cut each end a 1/4" there will be a gap where the bars reduces in size for the hand controls. This is due to the heated grips. Here are a few pictures of them on my bike.

Thank you sir! That is great news.

One of the most comfortable bars on the market.

I had to cut the left side for my heated grip with the control last time to prevent the gap, but did not have to cut the right side?

I put these bars on my 17 FLHTK and had to cut 3/8" off the left side and bore out the inside diameter a little to get the heated grip to slide in. The right side was no issue nor is there a gap.
I paid $182 for them back in July. The same place has up'd the price a little but still cheaper than most.

Are these wider than the fairing? How about height, do they put your hands above the fairing?

Update

I called Wild 1 and spoke with them. Glad I did. When I changed the bars on my 2016 Limited I had to trim around the edge of the fairing and switch cover for clearance to get everything to fit right again.

With the new CVO I do not want to do that with the nice inner painted fairing. Wild 1 told me that if you change to the polyurethane bushings they raise the bars up higher causing the clearance issues. They are currently in the process of retooling their bushing to eliminate this problem. He expects them to be available by the first of 2018.

However he told me to go ahead and use the factory STOCK bushings that they have many customers using them with zero issues!

I bought aftermarket bushings last time and that explains the issues. I plan to check into the HD poly bushings and see if they are the same size as stock bushings.

This will be a winter project for me. Looking forward to it. Last time I spent six hours. I should easily beat that this time around since ai know what to expect.

I installed my bars today... LA Chopper LA7321-10
Definitely needs a larger center hole... used a die grinder to enlarge it.

I did a set of Vinditka 12" bars on my 17 CVO street glide, added ultra limited heated grips and never had to trim or modify anything. All fit great and looks awesome. Quality product and excellent customer service. Check them out as an option as well. Before

I"ve had the WO 578s on a few of my bikes. Great height, wrist angle and set back. I may do these on the new one. It is common to have to trim 3/8" off the left bar side.
