My experience has been that fingerless gloves, while adding to the dexterity factor, are a real PITA to get off when sweaty and I imagine that protection is much less in the worst case scenario. BUT, if watching ole ladies tremble gets you off, go for it...

Being right handed what I do is cut about 1/3 off the right hand index finger glove.

Fingerless gloves are so you can where those bad *** gargoyle and skull rings. Otherwise they are useless, right up there with dog dish helmets.

I always were fingerless gloves unless it's too cold out. Mine have excellent palm and knuckle protection. On hot days it's better than no gloves because your hands sweat in the gloves, not on the grips. They may not offer 100% hand protection but the ones I have offer more protection than some full finger gloves I see some guys wearing.

Explain to me how they're useless when they protect the palms and knuckles.

I guess I like my fingers with their skin on? You think they won't hit the pavement if you go down. Nevermind, y'all dress for the looks, not for the crash...

The ladies do tend to prefer the fingers...as does my piano.

But, yeah better than nothing. Same with the brain bucket.

I got a pair as a gift a couple of years ago, wear them all the time now. As for getting them off, mine have extra little straps between fingers to facilitate pulling them off -- works fine.
