Hey everyone I am trying to decide on which bars to get for my 2018 RG....I used to have the 12" chubby apes but have been looking at the " meathook bars" I guess that's what they call them . I am ready to goto the 14" as the 12's were very comfty for me I could have gone up a couple of inches. Thoughts?
Hey Trish. Trying to decide on bars also for my Road Glide. Have bought bars before from this place so they sent me a link to the bars they carry that are specific to the new Road Glides. If not here let us know what you go with and best of luck!!!
Pay close attention to the Pull back. Your wild1's were probably around 12 inches pull back.
Most if not all of the meat hook style of bars offer only 6-7 inches pull back which is fine if you have long arms or don't mind reaching forward.
Also Yaffees are measured pretty much lower bar to grip.
So a 12" bar is close to actual 12" tall at the grip. KST and a ton of others measure from the lower bar to top point which makes a 12" bar really around 10"s at the grip.
Not saying this is always true, but check...
Because I prefer comfort, and have shorter arms I guess, I'm using 14" wild1s on my RG.
I did use control wire extensions (8 inch) but the brake and clutch were fine rerouted at the neck area; although, in the future I'll extend the clutch a couple of inches.
Works fine for now.

I just looked at his selection they all look nice a lil pricey but he doesn't have the other kind I am looking for too. I think I might go with what I had on my RK and just get 14" ....with me being 6'1 I got the long arms but I like the bars coming back to me. Sometimes I go for long hauls and I know these bars to be comfty.
Forgot to mention, the one draw back from using the standard Wild1 bars are that they neck down to 1 inch at the bar clamp.
If you have a 18 Road Glide the bar clamp will be 1.25 inch. You can buy a new bar clamp from Wild1 or simply do what I did and buy a used take off 2009-2016 bar clamp from ebay.
I think it cost me 35 bucks. Works great.
