Just discovered another goofy wrinkle: The frame sits so close to the primary that there is no way to remove the primary drain bolt.
Heh. Always something.
This will be easy enough to sort. The bolt is just barely too long. I think I should just be able to grind off a bit And that will be that. Maybe there is a shorter one available so I will be able to keep the magnet? Have to see.
In any case, this means that the motor is going to have to come out at least once more, no matter what.
This bad boy just arrived today. Super happy with how it looks.
If things keep showing up that look that good, the rat bike idea may fade away. As much as this thing is running me, a few more bux on a nice paint job and some powdercoating might be a good idea.
These stands that I ordered a while back finally showed up. Makes this a lot easier.
Got my new forward controls test fit. Quite a bit heavier duty than the old ones. Nice.
Based on how those fit, I was able to determine that those engine mount tubes are exactly 1.5" shorter than they need to be. At least I think they are. I'm going to wait on sorting that until I get the new sprockets on and the spacers for the back wheel mocked up. I want to make sure everything is square before I start welding it up.
Liking this Sporty Build, find out what shipping will be to Ohio and back for the tins and I will put a nice paint job on for a donation to the project. Have been running a truck dealership body shop for 2 years and do all of the paint work. Paint (Imron) will be donated to the project also of colors on hand.
Note: I painted the White Bike, used to do custom paint work at home and very picky

Expect to hear from me!
There is something about Evo guys that never ceases to amaze me and for whatever reason is lost on newer model groups of people. Real salt of the earth guys.
Your new seat looks amazing. Style the rest of the bike around it.
I think this project of yours is causing some of us gray hairs to reminisce about days of our youth.😎
