Be warned though, even though the supertrapp system is quieter, it truly sounds like **** and the stainless little bolts used to bolt all the discs on usually seize or cross thread.

Pure junk and I have refused to touch their stuff ever again.

The ones I've heard sounded great, and the Fuel Moto pipe isn't made by Supertrapp. It's just using the disk style of muffler.

Dang, just did some looking, and apparently Fuel Moto doesn't have this model for a Softail, just Touring.

My system had a package of antiseize in copper to use on the disc bolts. I never had a problem with mine.

Donk

Do you know if the Fuel Moto version suffers the same hardware issues?

(I don't think it's actually a Supertrapp but it's very similar)

Unknown. I got mine directly from supertrapp. I sent emails and made phone calls. Never heard anything from them.

Fuelmoto is a good place. Built a 107 using their stuff.

I'll comment since I've used both systems and still use the FM E-series. The E is built heavier and the elliptical diffuser discs are similar in concept to the Trapp but have a larger surface area and different contour than the Trapp. The sound is a bit richer to my ear. It doesn't have the "pfft pfft" sound that some complain the Trapp has. The hardware is similar and you have to be religious about applying copper anti-seize to the screws EVERY time you have them out. I never had an issue with the screws on either system doing it that way.

I did however have other quality issues with the Trapp. At the front of the muffler where the inlet tube is welded to the muffler body the weld cracked and the muffler body separated from the tube. This happened 2 weeks after the 1 yr. warranty expired. Even with pics showing the rust in the crack, Supertrapp refused to offer anything other than a full retail + shipping replacement. That experience led me away from their product.

Yup. Ear plugs will also take care of wind noise, another thing that can not only be very distracting, but also make you go deaf.

The SuperTrapp systems that use our "patented" round disc technology is about the quietest systems available today.
Here is one of our latest 2:1 offerings that is a bit different looking than our 2: SuperMeg but is just as quiet.

I'm running the Freedom Performance American Outlaw pipe, quite happy with the sound. I ride in both a beanie lid and full face Simpson helmet and the sound of the exhaust is perfect to me with the standard baffle. They make a quiet baffle but I haven't heard what kind of difference it makes. Definitely a much nicer sounding pipe than the Vance and hines side shots I was running before.
