I Fact remains, that at least right now, more people are buying Harley Davidson motorcycles than other brands. You can't lump them all together and say "they" as a group are selling more bikes.
you absolutely can say that... and it would be true... because it is true... like.. reality true.
there's a market.... buyers & sellers....more buyers, as a whole, in that market bought more bikes that aren't harleys than those that did. some probably bought both.
and, again, small displacement is not broken out there.
Geez!!!!! Are you one of those people who just love to argue??
Is Harley outselling Honda in the U.S.?....YES.........Is Harley outselling Suzuki in the U.S?.......YES............Is Harley outselling Kawasaki in the U.S.?.........YES..........Is Harley outselling Yamaha in the U.S?......YES............is Harley outselling Polaris, and "other brands" in the U.S.?..................YES.
this is not an argument. you introduced the chart, how can you get put off because people can interpret what's put in from of them ... and still..
small displacement is not broken out there ...or do street, dyna, softail, and touring/trike sales have something to do with sportster sales. stay focused, man
outselling one oem is irrelevant when all make up the "competition". how many bikes were in that comparison/shootout video... one... or was it more? competition provides options to buyers..... this has been repeated several times now.
all that chart did is demonstrate the situation and why improvement is needed.
How does the rumor or 'wish list' for a new Sportster evolve into another thread on HD not building good bikes or going out of business....again. Too many people with a negative outlook on things. My goodness...

I often wonder if there is a forum out there for people that like Harley's.
Not blind (ignorant) cheerleading like the Indian forum, but someplace where every dealer is not a thief, every service manager not a liar, and every Harley product not a piece of junk.
What's amazing is that no where in this thread is anyone putting down hd. Folks are saying they need to step it up and stop dragging their feet (in terms of the xl) while the competition moves ahead...
you see people in this thread say hd is evil and needs to be burned? You see people saying hd is awful? All i see is folks that want progress and folks that think progress is silly/unnecessary yet are riding the results of past progress and innovation. In 12 years, folks will be saying the same about the m8 and it's successor.... Lol
i guess that, and anything, reasonable or logical must be hate and/or putting down hd.

I don't know about the blind, ignorant cheerleading over at the Indian forum. The only threads I can find over there, are about Harley's in some manner. How Harley sucks. How Harley riders bash Indian. Harley is in financial trouble. Harley is a T-shirt store that also sells bikes. Harley memes, etc etc etc. frankly, it's hard to find an actual thread about Indians over at the Indian forums........
