Thanks for heads up on MJK. I may just get his rear axle... I've been kicking around ideas for my own design, but I can't seem to settle on anything. We'll see, I guess.

You wont be disappointed with the quality and attention to detail
Starting down the ARP path is like going deeper down the rabbit hole
My brother spent several thousand dollars when he built his 1940 knucklehead engine. He redid all the bolts by machining the engine, inserting timeserts and 12pt ARP bolts. Expensive, but clean as hell!

Truth... I haven't tried to really add it all up, but I'm confident there's at LEAST $600 worth of ARP on my bike amd I haven't touched the engine internals yet.
My 07 Dyna broke the right top shock bolt at 20,000 miles. I replaced right & left with a Grade 8 bolt from Ace Hardware. My riding buddy's 07 Dyna broke it's top right shock bolt at 15,000 miles. I replaced his with the same bolts. Got over 95,000 miles on mine and no broken shock bolts.
You don't need grade 8.. I used standard SS 1/2-13 SS Allen bolts and made spacers to get the shock spacing right when I replaced the worn out DX shocks in the back.. I faced the heads so they looked better. Works shocks need proper spacing since the bushings are delrin and can load the shock shaft if not set up right..
