South on the frontage road along I-10 to Park Link Drive {great 18 mile stretch of twisties and Sugauro's} back to 79 and Oracle junction for lunch at Lupe's. It was 65 degrees when we left but closer to 75+ for most of the ride with no wind and not much traffic on the two lanes. Logged 125 miles and had a blast. Lots of like-minded bikers were out having as much fun as we were.
Might just have to do it all over again tomorrow, life is good!

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
From my house (Pacific Coast) through Rancho Santa Fe, Lake Hodges, Escondido. I15 North to Hwy 76 East Pala Rd.
Hwy 76 east through Pauma Valley and towards Mt. Palomar (citrus and avocado and Indian lands). Sometimes ride up to top of Mt. Palomar (6000 ft pine forest) using East Grade Road to Hwy S7 Palomar State Park Rd. S6. Then down mountain via S6 South Grade Road to Hwy 76 past Lake Henshaw. Pull into Hideaway Saloon. It has been sold and is reopening sometime in 2018.
Hwy 76 East to Hwy 79 to Warner Springs Old Warner Ranch (cattle). Turnoff at San Felipe Rd stopping at RDs for a beer. Then continue through desert to Hwy 78. Up Banner Grade to Julian (pie)
Then either Hwy 79 through Cuyamaca Lake and State Park to Hwy I8. Or Sunrise Hwy through Mt. Laguna (6000 ft pine forest) to I8. I8 west to El Cajon, Hwy 52 to 805 and home (sea level and palms). 170 miles.
If I really want to make a full day and its not too hot in desert Ill take S2 at Hwy 78 Scissor Junction over Great Overland Stage Route and Sweeney Pass to Ocotillo desert floor (sea level). Then I8 West over 4500 ft grade to El Cajon and home (Pacific Coast). 227 miles.
Might I suggest~
Del Dios to I-15Northbd, to Gopher Canyon. Take "Circle R" to Lilac Rd. (There's going to be MAJOR switchback turns thru here.)
Continue On Lilac Rd (Past the Yellow Deli) to Couser Canyon (more twistys.)
Left to Hwy 76 for about 150 yds, then a right to Rice Canyon. Take all the way into Rainbow. (Rainbow Oaks has a good breakfast.) Biker friendly too.
Go North to Temecula then out 79South to S2. Left onto S22 (Montezuma Grade) into Borrego Springs. (Carlee's is always a good place for a break.) From here, you have choices. Last Monday, I rode to Mecca, then Bombay Beach. Roads are going to be empty this weekend and you can haul *** if you want. You'll be a only one out there probably. Major offroading area.
Anyway, back to this~
You can take Yaqui Pass from Borrego to 78 if time becomes a thing. Twistys here too. Then 78 up Banner Grade toJulian, or bypass Julian and take Wynola. Or, go into Julian and take Farmer Rd to Wynola. (Did a race on that road years ago. LeMan's style start.)
I gotta whole crap load of different routes to get to these places as I've been doing it since 1977, here.

On a side note...has anyone ever been hunted down and abused for posting weather updates.
