I got it jammed in there and if it clears I don't care and as a bonus if the nut falls off the bolt will stay in place!!!

Switching sides with the heim joint will add some clearance for you and the bolt won't slip out if that nut works loose.

if this is as much an issue fot Tex as it appers to be? Yet worth the attention I feel it deserves, considering that shiftin gears is as critical as most all relating to proper performance... Evaluating why there’s so little clearerence in the first place. As for the way Tex mounted the shift arm was properly set.

I’m concerned that moving it to the outside of the arm may add strain as the heim joint will not line up straight.Could have something to do with the foot control spacing moving everything more towards the motor and not leaving the heim joint no room perhaps
