honest answer... i don't.
but when i did.. , get a thick pair of gloves, possibly heated, frozen hands are a safety issue. mine lock up in cold weather, and make it hard to stop. also, use a helmet sock, i used to buy them from paint stores, then zip them down in my jacket. as long as you keep your core warm, you will be fine, as for the cold face, well, grow some facial hair. or learn to love it.

Change up gear for cold. Guantlet gloves (heated or no) layers, heated gear, cover neck, wind blocking gloves, Thermals, high boots, boot socks ...... blah blah.

careful around 37°... black ice and other things are lurking in that range.

yes. I'm in FL now but, i started riding in maryland and rode year round.

LOL! If I bundle up like Xmas Story, then I wouldn't be able to lift my leg to get on the bike! I would just fall over and roll around on the garage floor trying to get back up.

I did see 1 guy with a windshield but several others without. I assumed the windshield would provide some protection but I'm sure it was still cold. If I remember right, wind chill is roughly half of the outside temp at 40mph. That would make it around 25 degrees.

I can't deal with it and maybe I will adjust after time....maybe not.

Went to Charlestown WV Friday night. Met a dresser in the dark. It was 13 degrees.

I'm in my 60s and, as such, I don't ride below 50-55 degrees. But back when I did I wore thick wool socks over regular cotton socks, thermals, a cotton shirt or 2, good jeans, a heavy down vest, a thick leather jacket, heavy gauntlet gloves, and a good pair of riding boots.

And like cvaria says, watch the heck out for black ice in the mid to high 30s. We recently had the worst black ice I've ever walked and driven on (a very light rain had just fallen on iced-over asphalt. You could be doing 20mph and still end up swapping ends or veering into oncoming traffic in the blink of an eye.

When riding a bike you are pretty much just sitting on your ***. You don't generate much body heat that way. So, you need something to do that for you. That's where heated gear comes in.

My Nightster is naked. No wind protection at all. I've ridden in the 30's with heated gear. In the 40's and 50's, I can ride all day.
