Great to hear of your accomplishment, you did very well considering that lately Mother Nature seems to be giving everyone a hard time. Wife and I have a couple IBA rides under our belts also , two up and pulling a trailer . We found it to be exciting and challenging and plan to do more ! Congratulations on a new found way to enjoy riding !
I did the SS and Bun Burner with 4 good friends last aug.
We had a great time finished the first 1200 miles in 15 and half hr had dinner, drinks and a hotel stay then in the morning we finished the last 300 miles back to Minnesota..I was beat on the second day but when this came in the mail all that faded away!!!
thinking about our next adventure as I sit here in -10deg

Just like going to the can, no job is done until the paperwork is in!
Sounds like a great ride. I briefly considered grabbing some sleep when I returned home and trying for another 500 miles the next morning to complete the bun Burner on top of my first Iron Butt. Fortunately, I made the right call as when I got home I felt pretty good but was so wired up from the ride I didn't get to sleep for hours. By late the next day my lower back was complaining and another 500 miles would not have made that better.
I hope to do another Saddlesore 1,000 and perhaps even attempt a Bun Burner next spring but with the shorter days and colder weather, it will have to wait.
