Got a question on something:

I thought I could get away with using my narrow-hub stock front wheel, but I ran into an issue where the brake caliper is just barely hitting the spokes. The question is can I shim the rotor? I probably only need about 1/8", maybe 3/16". My gut says "why not", but my gut also says "really dumb idea". Edit: Talked to Tyler at TC Bros and he said that's the way to go. I'll probably just get a 1/4" spacer and that should do it.

Any thoughts?
I'd just go with the 1/4" spacer.

No problema.

Don't you just love it when, despite thinking you have figured something out, it turns out to be less complicated!
Lookin' good, keep on truckin'.

Man that's coming along nice. That's gonna be pretty sweet looking when you're done.
Ya might want to keep a front fender of sorts in the back of your mind. Those rooster tails off a naked front wheel are a biotch.

I'm trying to get at least a little forward progress every day, and I'm still hoping to have all the fabrication done by the end of the month, but it feels like it's dragging to me!

The biggie that I haven't even started yet is getting the exhaust fabricated. That is probably going to be way harder and take way longer than I expect.

Little smidge of progress last night:

Regarding the exhaust, I remember seeing build your own exhaust kits in the past that had numerous short segments of straight, various types of bends and curves etc. Each segment was short enough and there was enough of a variety of pieces that made it relatively easy to assemble what you need.

It's been a long time since I saw those kits though.

You might end up starting the beginning of the head pipes yourself then seek the assistance of a muffler shop with a pipe bender. Sadly, these days, there aren't many real muffler shop that bend pipe anymore.

Glad to see the progress.

Finally got all my parts back from the laser guys. Everything came out...

I think I've mentioned before, but since there is a minimum charge, I got lots of duplicates made. Gives me some room for error when I'm putting these together.

The base of the top motor mount came out perfect:

Plan "A" for the evening was to get that mount welded together, but as soon as I started, I realize my argon tank is empty. So I decided to get the cover plate for the starter hole mounted up.

Off to exchange the tank tomorrow, then get to work finishing up the fabrication.
