thanks all. this helps. in some ways it makes it harder, too, as it seems these, are all decent products. i started with the harley bag then expanded my search. like tge look of the saddlemen. my wife doesnt ride with me like she used to. that combined with a new (to me) street gide has me going away from a tour pac. i always had one on my road kings prior. ill continue my hunt as i have some time before i need it. again and as always thanks for the input!
FWIW, I have a couple of pieces of HD soft luggage that attaches to passenger backrest and luggage rack. One is an overnight size, and the other is multiple days....seem to be decent quality and come with rain cover....hope this helps.
Yep, thats the one. Access from either side, adjustable partitions, detachable top roll, mounts solid...you could do a cross-country run with this bag. It can sit on the seat or luggage rack, too - passenger or solo. Good bag.
I'm finding out that a lot of the dimensions on some of these websites are misleading, where they say it's 20" w but it's really 15" inside because they're counting pockets
thanks for weighing in, folks! i didnt know that about tbags, either. im still leaning towards saddlemen but not a fan of the flaps over pockets on the models i like. i originally considered the harley premium. the pricing from new castle isnt too bad. i havent looked un depth at dowco. ill do that tonight.
