Regarding the negativity you have to know that probably 99% of it are employees of Polaris or Indian social media employees. That would also include Honda, Kawasaki. The fact is Harley really hit one out of the park with the M8, I am also a proud owner of a 2017 Road Glide Special. These junky brands really cant compete so they do anything to try and take Harley down a peg, dont believe me check the help wanted, look at the positions they advertise this is what a social media employee does for a living. You can usually tell with their posting, look at their posting count its either 1or something like 20,000
Thanks for your comments Ed. I think a few folks enjoy being the turd in the punch bowl. I think it must make them feel important in their pitiful little world. So glad things are going great for you.
Bought my 2017 in July/2017..... just cracked 14,000 miles today and all running great...I feel that the more miles I get on her, the smoother and looser the motor seems to be..... my only complaints are the damn clutch.... I want my '15 version back..... and I'm losing 2-3 ounces of tranny fluid to the primary every 1000 miles or so.....not a big deal except I have dis-similar fluids swapping spit now.... had a phone conversation with my trusted service manager back in Maine today and he called Harley and called me back and was surprised that they were quite honest that a problem exists and they will have the permanent "fix" available in about a month....... in the meantime... this is my 14th Harley and is by far the "best out of the box" of any of them..... my '15 gave me 65,000 relatively trouble free miles in 22 months, but this M8 is an big improvement over the twin cam in the "seat of the pants" riding dyno.... just twist and go..... DW
Thanks for a fair reasonable report. Nothing in life is perfect and I believe HD has no interest in their customers not being satisfied. Glad they are working with you.
You think Harley tax is bad try corvette tax. Everything that has the “c” connected to it doubles the price. Lots of fun to drive but expensive to mod.
No kidding. Love mine.
No longer have the Skunk, have the 18 CVO road glide now. Love the M8.

Nope, while the Demon will smoke me in the Quarter, I will beat it in everything else, like handling, ride, comfort, and hwy mpg. My car is way more fun on a Track like Spring Mountain, Road Atlanta, or the Corvette museum track.

The nice thing about the vette is it is very easy albeit expensive, to put some real power into a light weight car. You would be surprised how fast you can make a vette run in a quarter mile.

Do you have any proof of this? Any at all?! How many whiners on this board have been outed as an employee of a Harley competitor? I don't know, there may have been a couple, but 99%.. you are dreaming!

Back to the topic. The more I ride my 17 M8 Road King the more I love it. Santa brought me the replacement speedometer with builtin analog tachometer. My seat of the pants speedometer, told me it was reading substantially high at speed. So, yesterday I hooked up a GPS with speedometer, and did a 50 mile round trip ride on I15. I cruised up to 85...with an occasional 90. The speedometer read just over the GPS speed by about the thickness of the needle.
So, the speedometer is accurate. Its just that Lil Blue hums along so nice and smooth and stable it seems like its going significantly slower than it really is.
Oh yeah...this is Southern California, so even at those speeds you get passed. So, you cant compare to other traffic.
I have had my 2017 Limited with 5100 miles for six months. After having a minor problem corrected by an excellent mechanic I am very pleased with my bike. I have been riding since 1966 and have owned numerous Harley's and other brands, I can honestly say this bike is the best I have had. We live in hope and die in despair.
