Can I talk About My Sporty here?
Not 100% sure I like all this, so I'm going to sleep on it and (assuming I don't change my mind) get it welded up tomorrow.
Just finished up a four hour welding session. Everything seems to be coming together nicely.
Came up with this idea for mounting the rear fender. Wanted the ability to adjust it's position based on the chain adjustment. I think this should work:
I had the idea at one point of taking some chain and welding the links together to make way-bitchin fender struts. Decided that was too cute, so I just bent some 1/2" round stock:
Had to re-make the upper motor mount. All set, except I still need to drill some holes to bolt it to the tab on the frame.
I had tacked the mounting bungs onto the oil tank, and the mounting tabs onto the frame. Got those finished up:
Ground off the seat mount that Paugho welded on, and welded on a new one, as well as the spring posts:
That's pretty much it for the fabrication, with the enormous exception of the exhaust. Still noodling on how I want to run that, but for now, feeling pretty good.
In the mean time, I putting on some Celine Dion music, opening a bottle of wine, and organizing my Elton John concert tees.
