Thank you for the reply, this may be a dumb question but is there any issue with the stock clutch not holding with this much of an increase in HP and TQ with these cams?
Our test bike already had a AIM SDR clutch installed, however we have used the stock clutch in pretty well all of the M8 cam installs that we have done. We always use BelRay V-Twin Primary Lube in the primary.
Have Andrews already replaced the 460 with a 462 or 464?
Interesting that FM managed 10 more hp than advertised out of the 460 but with pretty much the same torque graph.
I wonder what the 462, advertised at 109hp and 127tq would come out like.
I know it's not a popular thought and people no doubt want to sell cams, but are we maybe a bit under development still?
This is a completely irrelative comparison. I cannot speak for the level of accuracy of Andrews testing however it was generated in a photoshop program rather than the dyno software, they list no test conditions, correction factor, or any of the info relative to the test; we don't even know if its a Dynojet chassis dyno.
Ok, I know this might sound silly but I need to ask anyway. I am chasing the sound as much as I am the low end torque. From what Ive read the S&S 475 and the Woods 22X sounded the best and delivered the best low end torque. I am going to ask a subjective question: Which cam brought you back to the sound of an old school Harley? I know an M8 will never sound like an EVO, but which cam sounded the best.........

Personally, with the videos I've heard of the 465 (not the 475) and Jamie's results listed under each cam test, I think the 475 is currently as good a sound as you're gonna get.
The west end motorsports video of the 465 sounds REALLY good. I can only imagine that the 475 will sound as good if not a bit better.
Sound is what I'm after too, so already looking into the 475 purchase.

You need to set the idle down to about 650 rpm then you'll get the sound..

I looked on the Andrew website for the M462 and in the notes it says " Bolt in cam, 2017up: 107-114 inches. Big power (127 ft. lbs and 109 hp (from 1200 to 5500 RPM)."
So I called Andrews to see if the test bike was a 107 or a 114. They said it was a 107 with pipes (didn't remember what kind) and air cleaner. He also said it was tuned by one of the top tuners in the country (didn't say who) and that the tuner said he wouldn't publish the results because he felt they wouldn't be able to reproduce them.
I did ask about availability. Four weeks out. If I can get it we will include it in the testing Steve Cole and I are going to do in March. I think that kind of claimed power would warrant testing it.
