How long do you keep a bike? Chrome is my personal choice because it's timeless and easy to take care of. Black is super trendy right now but in a few years it may not be "cool" anymore. I have a chromed out 17 SGS and a blacked out 17 road king special and the black is already looking dull on the exhaust of the road king
I keep seeing trendy and the blacked out look used together, yet many many bikes have come blacked out for years and years, guys have been doing in on their Harleys for at least a decade I can recal, just because they FINALLY started offering them from the factory, their trendy lol
Thanks for all responses! I'm really torn between the two! I'll continue to play with the bike builder and check out all of your nice rides as spring slowly makes its way here in Michigan! I'll go the the dealer and kick some tires and see which one I keep gravitating to!

I have both a chrome bike and a blacked out bike so I'm not hating on either one. But not only Harley is jumping on the black "trend" when you walk into a new car showroom half the cars have "midnight" or some sort of blacked out wheels now. When a Nissan Sentra or pathfinder come "tricked" out with black wheels I tend to think it's a trend. Just my opinion. It's also crazy to me they charge more for blacked out pieces on cars and bikes like it's a premium product. I could be wrong but I thought chroming is more expensive than powder coat/ paint.
I love chrome. I wouldn't mind Black if it was a lot cheaper than chrome. No way would I pay more for less. But I'm 61. I don't know what the young folks think.
Heh heh. It's catching on. Seriously though -- sometimes chrome is outstanding, like Puttnutt24's Fat Boy -- that thing is sheer beauty. And sometimes, chrome's gotta go. But to be fair, ain't none of our opinions matter here -- OP's gotta live with the choice, so -- it's all on him.

Mate I love HD's no matter if they're chromed, blacked out or dropped on their guts and cholo'd, or pimped hard cause the guy/chick that decked it out always has that look in their eye when they tell you about man. Our little "Chrome is a hate crime " thing got wings too brother and yea it'll crash and burn soon but it's a funny ya right.
Yea Putt nutters bike is mad ,and yea he posts about it with pride too.
Cheers.
