Yeah, I've been to a few Dead concerts, including for some strange reason, beatin' my *** to Oxford, ME (which was a great weekend!), but I don't remember any Softail Custom. I know back in the 60s The Grateful Dead were a favorite of the HA, but I dunno about them being bikers themselves. Did go to a Dead & Co concert in Orlando a few weeks ago and that band is tight! If you're a Dead Head, they're worth seeing. Still no Softail Custom in sight though.

Cool bike. I agree with Daytona above. Dead and Company is awesome (Saw them most recently in DC in November). I am a young guy but have listened to a ton of Grateful Dead and John Mayer playing Jerry is pretty epic. Ill be riding down to Raleigh to see them June 9 if any members in the area are going.

I perceived the part about it being taken to all of the shows and ridden by band members, to mean that it was probably parked out back for the guys to ride around the area in the afternoons.

I dunno......not a fan of the band to be honest, so I agree on the posting above about it not selling for a bunch of money, in the end. But, who knows maybe a die hard fan will buy it for bragging rights.

Was never a big fan of the band, I could take em or leave em like others said I don't see where the bike should bring more than the going rate for that model/year. But on the other hand I know there are many die hard Dead fans out there so it could drive the price up

Not sure why anyone would want to pay a premium for a used bike just because some celeb farted in the saddle.

There was a guy, out here in SoCal, that had an old stock Harley that I would see posted up on Craigslist....for months and months.

He started really high and the last time I saw the ad he was still asking 20 grand.

It's claim to fame...it was once owned by Mick Fleetwood and the tank was signed with his signature.

I don't think it ever sold.

It's up to $6,500. It will probably end up going for some ridiculous price, and end up sitting in some guy's garage, that doesn't even know how to ride.

A picture of Garcia actually riding the bike might give it more value.

I've been to MANY Dead shows! I think it would be cool to have a piece of Grateful Dead memorabilia. Too bad it's not in the budget. Certainly wouldn't sit in my garage.
