Ive owned Ducati before and have several, sport bikes in my background, so I was very interested in the XDiavel S. Sat on a Pearl White one and they fired it up, but wouldnt let me ride it. Im sure it has great power and that probably would have won me over, but I didnt like the very forward controls and the bike looks garish in person.
So I rode a Fat Bob and it felt like a controllable hooligans bike and I really dug the looks. Salesman said do me a favor, ride the Heritage. Thats what I bought.
I really like Fat Bob. Unique looks, rides great, decent suspension, good brakes, comfy and goes not bad. And can be made to go great.
Both bikes look really hot. Haven't ridden either of them, but my personal favorite is the Fat Bob. I would love to have that bike with the 114. Quite a contrast from my chromed-out RGU, but something about that Bob is tuggin' at me.
Are you talking bout they Dyna Fat Bob or that weird softail by the same name? This is my '14 Fat Bob. Best Harley by far that I've ever owned and I've owned a bunch since 1968. Eight large got new innards, 113", 134hp, 139lb. torque. Fast for any bike, let alone a Harley.
This is a Fat Bob. Beware of Japanese imitations...
I have owned the Sport Glide for a couple of months now - absolutely love the ride.
I did have to change the seat to a sundowner and that made the bike much more comfortable for my short self.
When I bought the bike, I had them take it straight back and installed the SE Stage IV upgrade to 114. WOOF.
I made a tail pack of my own liking for commuting using HD's OEM rack. T
he bike strips down in less than 3 minutes.
I bought the 5" increased height screen for the fairing - still needed more so I added an mra-xray deflector and now the airflow is perfect for me.
This bike really holds the road well, even in high winds and gives me a lot of confidence.
I had a custom paint job put on the bike and it draws a lot of cameras out for pics... it's a looker but a looker with GRUNT.
I'm on number 50.. for motorcycles I've owned. I must say the fat Bob is just plain fun. I added cruise, sissy bar and swingarm bag... good to go and yes I got the 114.. worth every penny..

First of all, my OP was pretty explicit that I'm looking at the 114, and I posted in the M8 forum. I'm glad you like your bike, but if I wanted to rod up a '14 Dyna I wouldn't have sold my 2014 Super Glide, which for me was a better bike than the old Fat Bob to begin with--better rake, sportier wheel setup, etc.
I think there are roughly 3000 threads on this forum devoted to bickering and moaning about the new frame and the fact that Dynas got absorbed into the Softail line, this isn't about that.
For the record, people made the same comments about the FXR copying Japanese bikes, and now it's not only revered as one of the greatest Harleys ever made but the granddaddy of the Fat Bob you ride. Something to keep in mind...

I only have 50 miles on my new Sport Glide because of our crappy weather. I am very pleased with this bike so far. I think the biggest thing for me is the remarkably smooth transmission coupled with an almost perfect power band. So far the suspension is much improved over my last FLHX, just seems way smoother. I have been riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles for almost 40 years now and have to say this is the most refined one I have owned. The only problem I am having is finding the foot pegs, but that is to be expected coming from 20 years of dressers with footboards.
So I'm settled on the Fat Bob at this point, any suggestions on parts or accessories to try to negotiate into the deal? What's a good target for OTD price at this point?

PICS would love to see a custom paint, I just got a Vivid Black but I know scratches on it and denim cases will get to me so a lighter color custom is in my future.
Never mind, I saw the video.. Beautiful paint , congrats. Koch did a fantastic job.
