Put led's in the tail light and blinkers and replaced the rear brake pads today. Saw this 2 wheel drive Ural while picking up metric hex sockets needed for brake caliper.

Tested a LED RBT light...

Pretty bright for not much bigger in diameter than a quarter. This is on "running light"

Higher intensity for "Brake" or "Turn"...

Next up was to...

...submerse it in water, to see if it really is waterproof.

Three hours later, still working well.

No, I didn't watch it the whole time...lol...left it and went and worked on a little Gun Control.

Tore up center mass on a bunch of targets.

Also, played around with this "self-healing" target for the first time. (Mary got it for me for Christmas).

Does not appear to be healing too well. Will look at it tomorrow.

The ones I used are all straight plug in. I see yours are hard wire, better chance for water proof.

At least it's staying light later. Might be able to get some afternoon swings in.

This is what I keep saying about my job in relation to my riding.

Yeah, those going in the factory signals, with some dielectric grease, will probably never have any problems.

The light i was testing will be out in the elements, no enclosed case with a lens.

The wires and all the circuitry are enclosed in a resin or epoxy, and certainly appears to be water tight.

Mine is, but the Honda Silverwing 600 scooter with a California sidecar I got last summer is much faster (interstate capable), corners incredibly better and stops much better than the Ural. It's more comfortable for the rider, but the monkey (sidecar passenger) seat needs work before it's as good as the deluxe version in the Ural. I know Urals have a reputation as off road machines, but I don't know why, they beat the crap out of you when it gets rough; I don't like taking mine on anything my Sportster couldn't handle. Even though I don't need it any more, I still don't like the idea of giving up my 2007 antique sidecar rig, just something about a poor handling, sluggish, and extremely clunky shifting motorcycle that appeals to me.
