Default Post pics of your Rushmore tp setup.

I’m still struggling with setting up my tour pak. I got the Polk MM652 which in fact do not drop in like the MM651. So I bought a half inch spacer and a quarter inch spacer. Both have a smaller diameter than my boom audio stage 1 speaker grills so it’s not looking clean and professional. Also on a side note these well nuts are a pain. Sometimes they just pull out through the hole vs bunching up behind when I tighten them.

I couldn’t get mine to drop in either and I know what you’re saying about the diameter differences between the grill and the spacer. I used the 1/4” spacer ring that came with the speakers and ground off the tabs, but that’s a temporary fix until I can figure out a better one. I’m also running the Boom 1 grills and cut the plastic protrusions down on the underside of the screw holes so the grill rim would sit down a little farther; however, it didn’t quite cover the ugly spacers so I’m not satisfied yet. I could have kept going but figured I’d eventually bump into the tweeters and at that point the grills are trashed. I didn’t caliper everything to see, but maybe it’s worth a try. Otherwise it’s use the stock Polk grills (fuuuuugly), try another aftermarket (Hogtunes) grill, or maybe fab my own spacers. Not the PnP solution I was hoping for either.

Press down on on the speaker near the screw that you’re tightening and that should keep the well nut seated until it compresses.

yup man you know 100% what I’m talking about. I ordered some Chinese grills to see if they will cover the speaker plus spacer.

Did the same thing today. I bought 1 1/2" screws to mount the 652's with 1/2" spacer. After fighting with the stock pod screws on my last set of speakers with the spacer, not doing that again. Used the Polk grills until I come up with something else. I was going to put MMATs in the rear but they require an even thicker spacer, so they are going in the lowers.

Are the CVO grills different from the Boom 1 grills? They look the same, but fit a lot better than the Boom 1 grills. Pic of my modified grills with Polk 1/4” adapter ring. I suppose it works, but it looks like what it is - a crappy workaround. I like the bar and shield, but will probably try some other grills as well. I know I won’t be happy with how it looks now for the long term.

looks way clean! Where did you get your spacers and did you modify your grills to sit deeper?

I am keen to hear too - I checked and the CVO grills are indeed the same as the Boom 1, P/N 76000324.
