just buy a brand new one and ride it for 500 miles and it gets louder all on its own! wife and I rode yesterday, came home and noticed this on her Tri Glide
That's a damn shame! Can you imagine if that muffler had dropped down a little more and dug into the pavement at 70 mph.
no $h!t !! or have the muffler bracket bolt come out and the damn thing hit one of us...oh well, they're picking it up and fixing it tomorrow..it's just a loose clamp and worked itself backwards..I could buy a clamp and fix it myself but eff that..$50,000 brand new trike let them deal with it during our work week
Did you pay a dealer prep fee?.... I'd be asking for a refund of it just for the aggravation.
My first thought was along that same line, except it was about the 1000 mile FIRST service...you know, the one where they are supposed to check ALL the critical fasteners. Other than the fluid changes, the 1000 mile service is also there to fix the unfinished/overlooked work done at the factory.
Guys relax. Its just a loose clamp. No one got hurt and you can play the what if game all you want but nothing happened. That is exactly why the first service on any bike specifies an all bike fastener check with any brand. Its a good idea to check exhaust bolts every oil change in the future. They do tend to loosen up from the combination of heat cycles and vibration.
Its a simple fix and she will be in the road again quickly. Best wishes for many many great miles and memories on that beautiful trike for your wife.
