I like the looks of the sideshots on a wg. They really flow with the lines of the bike. Especally after adding a tank lift. And they sound great! Three of my riding buddies have baggers with Reinhardts, and they sound really good too. In the back of my mind I have had this idea of running true duals on a wg like the baggers. Since you run bags maybe you can run with that idea.
With the true duals on baggers, the mufflers are mounted to the support frames that are underneath the saddlebags. The Wide Glide doesn't have a comparable support ....
I suppose you could fab up something to hold them up, but they hang pretty far to the rear. Remember, the supports need to come off of the transmission (since the Dyna are rubber mounted). If it comes off the frame of the bike, the pipes can crack or come loose at the joints due to flexing of the engine within the frame. I think there may be a little more give in the Touring models' exhaust, since the rear supports are mounted to the fender/struts ....

Which Big Radius? The 2-into-2 or the 2-into-1? Either would look good. I do like the sideshots on a couple of the Wide Glides I'm seeing them on ....
With My tax returns I'm going to do a different exhaust on my fxdwg tc88. and the arlen Ness Big Air kit.
Im looking for recommendations on what exhast will
1. Look best I run bags most of the time want something that will match their length. Also not a fan of staggered
2. Sound awesome I love the sound of the thunderheader exhaust. the deep rich sound with out any ping but I hat the backwards cone look on the end.
3. will provide a decent performance gain I'm currently running seII with stock air

If you want performance but don't like the Thunderheader, I recommend the aforementioned Fat Cat or a Supertrapp. Don't bother with a 2-2 if you want performance. Just my opinion, but I think the Thunderheader is the best looking 2-1 out there...I don't understand how so many here think it's ugly.
You can't do True Duals on a Dyna.
The pipes are often the same between Softails and Dynas, but the mounting brackets are completely different....different frames.

I didn't like the look of the 2 into 1.
The wife picked them out I was looking for something more affordable, but found them onsale from a reputable dealer (not ebay)
I think I can live with them!

The D&D FatCat looks like a cleaner set up because they have two head pipe heat shields, one continuous shield that covers the head pipe from the head to the collector on each head pipe. The only exposed joints on the D&D FatCat are right where the collector and baffle connect.
Also The D&D FatCat's head pipes are much closer to equal length then the Thunderheader. I don't understand why the Thunderheader has a longer rear cylinder head pipe, usually you would want equal length head pipes so the cylinders can be more balanced and breath the same.
When I was looking for an exhaust set up I wanted it all, fit, finish, and performance. I looked at all the 2 into 1's (January 2006) and in my "opinion" the D&D FatCat was one of the better quality set ups out there.
I also think that thunderheaders are ugly...that's why I want one! They look so raw when wrapped. I think that the Fatcat looks better; almost too pretty for the direction I'm going. I don't know why more folks dont look into Python 2into1's. They seem to be alot cheaper than other pipes and look almost identical to the Fatcats.

Heat shields are a detail in my opinion, and shouldn't be the deciding factor in what pipe someone chooses.
I agree, but it also wasn't the only deciding factor for me as mentioned in my above post. By the way, I like your air cleaner cover, adds a nice "detail" to your bike .

"ugly" actual the layout looks pretty good, but has more of a crude unrefined look,..........like it was put together in somebody's back yard.
