I have a 2008 Dyna Superglide and my Shift Shaft Seal is leaking, I have the maintenance manual for the bike but I cant find the maintenance procedures anywhere in the book to fix it. Does anybody know where it may be in the book? Thanks
wheres it leaking? between the motor and the primary? thats your shifter shaft seal... if its leaking where the shift rod comes out of the primary thats the tower gasket...
if its the shifter shaft seal, youll need to remove the entire inner and outer primary.if thats the case youll want to replace the inner primary seal as well as the shifter shaft seal.... if its the tower gasket, you only need to remove the outer primary cover...
SuperFastGlide would you have to pull the entire primary off on a 1990 evo for the same leak or could you just take off the small plate where the shift rod comes out? I have a leak where the shift rod comes out on my 1990 FXR.

Look under primary chaincase cover, (6-2 for 2007 Dyna). The instructions consist of the tightening sequence and torque values on the primary cover screws, the rest will be obvious to you.
