Yes, this is correct. If you look at the number of wires going in the back of the plug on the FP3 you will find 3 wires.

I went from a Power Commander V to the FP3 on my 2009 Electra Glide Ultra Classic last week. So far I think I like it. It does seem to have a bit more power... not anything too drastic. The PCV was installed by the previous owner when he installed V&H Monster Ovals & an SE intake. The canned FP3 map seemed more responsive than the PCV tune. The bike does not backfire on deceleration with the FP3... it did a bit with the PCV.

I used auto-tune with the FP3 map... which was the functionality I was looking for when I purchased the FP3. While in auto-tune mode, the bike idled a bit rough until it warmed up the O2 sensors. After the map was finalized, this seems to be gone and it idles fine cold.

Another thing I notice with the FP3... it seems to run & accelerate smoother and when it starts it seems to do so a bit less "violently". With the PCV when I hit the starter it was like "Bang! Vroom!"... now there's no bang... it just starts and there seems to be less noise from the primary case. Also, I've noticed less noise from the primary when it's lugged at low RPMs. Maybe it's just me... maybe I've not been using it long enough to notice.

The bike did throw a DTC yesterday... I think it's related to starting the bike before the ECM diagnostics were completed (before the check engine light went off). I was in a hurry and hit the starter before the CEL went off. The bike started and died. This had never happened... I started it right back and rode off. Down the road I noticed my radio screen said the system was in diagnostics mode and the keys were disabled. I pulled over... shut it down... waited a few seconds and started it right up... no issues. When I went to start the bike an hour later the CEL was on... the DTC was P1010 (which seems to be some password error). I cleared the code, rode it for a couple hours, and all was fine... but I'll keep an eye on it.

Good luck and ride safely!
John.

Hmmmm.... well, that doesn't sound reassuring.
