OK got a 2008 street glide with 12,000 miles. Got all my winter mods done and finished last night. Got to take it out today as it was sunny and 70 here in south ms... Anyhow, fresh paint, led's, SE heavy breather, dressed duals, CFR's and a new PCV. Long story short, it sounds amazing, but it's throwing a code 1356 and it's very hard starting now. Like Sounds awful and struggles for a second. When it's running it doesn't run "bad" but it ain't right. Also every now and then it just kinda cuts out. Bike ran and cranked perfect before these mods. Any ideas? I wouldn't think it would be the pin hole in gas tank or plugs as this bike ran perfect up until these new mods.. I've searched and searched and saw a few options to try. I'm gonna unplug the pc5 when I get home later and see how it does with ECU.
Plug wires and all that looks good. Here's what I just did, I cleared all the codes, took PCV out and put factory ecm back inline. Bike cranked like it should and ran fine, let it run for a few. Turned it off and checked for codes. No codes. So I'm assuming the PCV is bad or i have a bad map in it. I bought from fuel Moto; they loaded the map I needed for my mods. Who knows. Also today riding one time it blew a good puff of black smoke. So it def ain't right. I will call fuel Moto Monday, I've heard nothing but good things about their customer service so I'm sure they will help me out. Aggravating to say the least though. Especially when it's beautiful riding weather
one of the drawbacks of the piggyback tuners is the doubling of electrical connections- even a slightly poor connection can give poor results- the power running through those pins is low voltage ( most are less than 5 volts) and low current- so a bad connection can have huge results.
often just replugging can make a for a better connection- keep that in mind if you are ever on the road and have problems- unplug/reconnect
