Default rear fender hardware

need a bit of assistance. i realized today that the ONE thing I *didnt* do was take pictures of the fender strut/bag support/docking hardware before I took it all apart (dumbass....i know)

anyone happen to have a picture of theirs handy? (97-07 style for docking hardware)

I got as far as this, and not 100% sure its right (and its enough of a pain in the *** that I dont wanna do it again) -- my google-fu isnt yielding anything particularly useful (basic layout, but whats stumping me is a few of the spacer washers that are needed). Finally got parts back from powdercoat, and dying to get this thing back on the road.

and obligatory teaser pic -- and yes, theres probably ~1/8" of grime on the tank. I promise I'll hit it with a hose once shes off the lift

slightly different hardware, unfortunately.

it did, however, give me a better idea.

this bikes not exactly friendly for passengers anymore...nor has anyone been on the back in years....so screw it? I went to Home Depot, got some shorter 5/16 button head SS screws (for what'd be seen), and bolted everything back together sans docking hardware.
got the job done

she's a roller again ... crap lighting for picture...and still covered in crap, but at least now I can get it off the lift and spin it around...gotta pull the front wheel and swap rotors to finish the brembo swap....and then, aim the new headlight, and she's ready for pavement again

WOW MAN
Don't know if I can help ya-
Your air filter does not match anything on the bike- !
You have your oil cooler where it should be (high-pressure area)
A lot of dirt on the bike....
Your tools are scattered all around.
I just don't think you are cut out to be a poser or a wannabee.
You might have to ask about streamers out the hand grips.
Seriously-it looks good-

checked ronnies microfiche, along with OEM and aftermarket service manuals, and my moco 98 touring parts book....none of them have a diagram for the add-on docking hardware.

honestly, kinda prefer the look without any of it on there. might even get it wrapped up tonight

she's almost there!

tested out the new Mueller powerclutch (heard mixed reviews using it with a bandit clutch...but talked to a few bigger names on HTT who've run that exact setup, and were nice enough to explain exactly what was needed for adjustment in order to get it working well...and damn they were right) -- fun story, the back tire will spin with the front brake held at ~ 2500ish rpm...small patch on the floor. oh well. releases a TAD early for my liking (~1/4" off the bar), but i'll get used to that...especially seeing as the clutch is effortless compared to what it WAS (im sure the new barnett cable helped too)

brakes are done, and certainly have a different feel to them. new pads/rotors/calipers, so gotta bed those in

seat and controls/heatshields can go on tomorrow, and might actually get a sticker on it this year

IIRC around the time your bike was made the qd stuff was fairly new, if it was available at that time. Check the H-D website, as there is still hardware available for your model, apparently introduced 2004. The installation instructions are there and can be printed off if useful.

thanks dude. and the aircleaner matches SOMETHING (screen's on the new brembos up front!)

look closer -- theres actually 2 oil coolers (dual 6row, in series), added ~ 1qt of capacity to the whole system, and I rarely get temps above 235-250F anymore, even in heavy traffic in 95degree weather

yea, dunno if i've ever been called a poser or wannabe (well, maybe a little when i bought the new roadglide...never thought i'd actually spend the dough on a new HD considering what they ask for em...but got my 17 RGS for 20,400+taxes, so at least it was a decent deal)...as far as the dirt goes....yea...im not real fond of washing anything (although i'll probably hose this thing down with some S100 at least once so I can get 1 good picture of it

next step probably wont be for another year or so...sending the jugs/heads to Frank @ Dragos for a bit of massaging (and some new custom CP pistons), ~11.6:1 compression, and *should be* around 165hp at the rear wheel once its done. if that doesnt get me into high 10's in the 1/4mile, i'll probably give it up (next step is a procharger...and thats a battle I dont wanna fight with a carb)....but once I get the top end apart (should be around when i'm due for tires too), the rocker covers, cam chest cover, and wagon wheels are getting the same treatment (3 coat blend on the powdercoat to get that particular shade of bronze)
