Default 84 flt classic bound chain

So I'm working on my first harley, decided to put a new chain on. First problem I ran into was I could not get the chain to go all the way around the front sprocket no matter what I did, some how the chain ended up jumping a link on the front side of the front sprocket and I cant move the chain or sprocket either way...yes it's in neutral...any body have any ideas before I split the case. I'm used to large farm equipment not small engines lol. Thanks!

Question

I'm not quite sure what to make of this! Do you have a bike with a rear chain-case and chain drive?

A TROLL? Maybe a link got kinked in the chain. Locking it up. It ain't rocket surgery. Forgive the sarcasm. Am getting cynical in my old age. What brand of lubricant do I use on my rear belt? You are working on the large farm equipment of motorcycles.

Since it's stuck you're gonna have to take off the primary to find out why.
My guess is that there was a kink in the chain and when you tried to pull it through it got jammed between the sprocket and the inner primary.

Man, that sounds really irritating.
I can't help thinking that if it went in there, there has to be a way to get it out without disassembling.
Are you using a mirror and flashlight to get a look up in there to see what needs to be done?
Best of luck to you!

I used a bore scope to look up in there and yea looks like a chain link is linked but I dont understand why the Shaun wouldn't go threw before it got wedged, would not get the old or new chain to go all the way around the sprocket over or under

Double check it again to make sure you are definitely in neutral put the chain on the rear sprocket and move the wheel in the reverse Direction two add a little bit of Leverage to pull it back and may have to have a buddy move the wedged link.
