Default Chain tension

Rear chain tension goes from tight to loose

Find tightest part of chain and adjust 1/2" play. Chain is probably stretched/worn.

The chain SHOULD go from tight to loose as moving

AS FL54 said is correct

A repair manual is a great thing to have and UTube

What condition are the sprockets in ? If the tip of the teeth are sharp or have curved look the sprocket and the chain are junk, it will not adjust right. If it looks ok do as FL45 suggested.
