Default 18 in rear wheels

Who's running 18 in rear wheels? Did it help to fill in the gap between the tire and fender? What size rim and tire did you guys use/recommend? I'm currently using a 180/60-17 along with 10 in slammer shocks.
Thanks

The FB is kind of on the outer limits of the Dyna line and uses a completely different rr fender, so don't know if this info will be of any help to you, but I'll post my specs anyway. I run 18" whls on both ends of my FB: frt is 18 x 3.5 with a 130/70-18 tire and the rr is 18 x 5.5 with a 180/55-18 tire. See my album for more pics if interested.

Question.... Unless you are going with a low profile tire? Wouldn't you be scrapping the fender going to an 18 and a regular side walled tire? Just curious..

Not sure. I recall reading some posts on here (very old posts), of guys doing it in order to have that rear fender sit closer to the tire. Im
thinkin they ran with a 180/55-18? Sure would like to talk to someone who actually did it

A 180/55-18 would only have 0.3" outside diameter larger than the 180/60-17 so not much change there. Going to the 180/60-18 would be 1" larger and I think the clearance to the fender is going to dependent on the length of your shocks. Measure your clearance and account for another 3-4" of travel.

Jay, I was thinking a 180/55-18? I'm running the Burly 10 in Slammer shocks. The posts I was able to find seemed to lean towards that size so no spacers or mods were needed?

That seems like a good way to go if you are planning to replace the rims. Axle and rotor spacers are going to be determined by the hub width though and don't have anything to do with the rim size.

I understand. So what's the chance of finding a 18x5.5 wheel with the same hub size? Or I could replace it onto mine if I can find a rim, correct?
